The Department of Dietetics and Nutrition is dedicated to enhancing patient recovery through evidence-based nutritional care. Proper nutrition supports medical treatment, accelerates healing, reduces hospital stays, and lowers the risk of hospital-acquired infections. Our team of experienced dietitians designs personalized nutrition plans tailored to each patient’s needs, considering factors such as age, medical conditions, burn injuries (measured by Total Body Surface Area, or TBSA), comorbidities, food availability, and financial constraints. We provide comprehensive services, including individualized diet plans and counseling for patients and their caregivers to ensure optimal nutrition during and after treatment. For outpatients, we offer counseling to address lifestyle-related conditions such as malnutrition, obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and hypotension, promoting long-term health and well-being.
Our department offers a range of specialized services to meet the nutritional needs of both inpatients and outpatients:
Dietitians create tailored meal plans based on patients’ medical and nutritional requirements.
We track patients’ nutritional intake daily to ensure adequate nourishment.
We assess and adjust dietary intake to meet patients’ specific needs.
Meal plans are updated as needed to align with changes in patients’ health status.
We provide one-on-one counseling to address patients’ dietary concerns, explain body composition, and encourage lifestyle changes to reduce health risks.
Patients receive guidance on managing conditions such as diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular issues through sustainable dietary practices.
Each morning, the hospital provides multigrain powder (Sarvottam Pitho) and smoothies (Lito) to help patients meet their nutritional needs.
For patients with financial constraints, we collaborate with sponsors to provide daily meals, ensuring access to adequate nutrition.
